General Questions

What is CalcBridge?

CalcBridge is a multi-tenant financial calculation platform that brings Excel calculations to the cloud. It is designed for CLO managers, portfolio analysts, and compliance teams who need to run complex calculations, compliance tests, and what-if scenarios on financial data.

Who is CalcBridge designed for?

CalcBridge is built for financial professionals who work with Excel-based calculations:

  • CLO Analysts - Running compliance tests and portfolio analysis
  • Portfolio Managers - Evaluating trades with what-if scenarios
  • Compliance Officers - Monitoring thresholds and generating reports
  • Data Operations - Managing data ingestion and mappings
  • System Administrators - Managing users, tenants, and integrations

What file formats does CalcBridge support?

CalcBridge supports the following Excel formats:

Macro-enabled .xlsm Supported (macros not executed)

What is the maximum file size?

The default maximum file size is 100 MB. Files larger than 20 MB may take longer to process.

For enterprise customers with larger files, contact support about increased limits.

Does CalcBridge execute Excel macros?

No. CalcBridge parses macro-enabled workbooks (.xlsm) but does not execute VBA macros. Only the data and formulas are processed.

How many Excel functions are supported?

CalcBridge supports 50+ Excel functions across categories including:

  • Logical (IF, IFS, IFERROR, AND, OR, NOT, SWITCH)
  • Lookup (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH)
  • Math (SUM, SUMIF, SUMIFS, SUMPRODUCT, ROUND)
  • Statistical (COUNT, COUNTIF, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX)
  • Text (CONCATENATE, LEFT, RIGHT, MID, LEN)
  • Date (DATE, TODAY, DATEDIF, EDATE)

Account and Billing

How do I create an account?

  1. Visit calcbridge.io/signup
  2. Enter your email and create a password
  3. Provide your organization name
  4. Verify your email address
  5. Start using CalcBridge

What subscription plans are available?

Can I try CalcBridge before purchasing?

Yes! The Free plan allows you to test CalcBridge with up to 3 workbooks. No credit card required.

For larger evaluations, contact sales@calcbridge.io for a trial of Premium or Enterprise features.

How do I upgrade my subscription?

  1. Navigate to Settings > Subscription
  2. Click Upgrade Plan
  3. Select your new plan
  4. Enter payment information
  5. Confirm upgrade

Upgrades take effect immediately. You will be charged a prorated amount for the current billing period.

How do I cancel my subscription?

  1. Navigate to Settings > Subscription
  2. Click Cancel Plan
  3. Select a reason for cancellation
  4. Confirm cancellation

Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. Data is retained for 30 days after cancellation.

How do I add users to my organization?

  1. Navigate to Settings > Users
  2. Click Invite User
  3. Enter the user's email address
  4. Select their role (Viewer, Analyst, Manager, Admin)
  5. Click Send Invitation

The user will receive an email invitation to join your organization.


Data and Security

Where is my data stored?

CalcBridge data is stored in secure, SOC 2 compliant data centers:

  • Primary: AWS US-East (Virginia)
  • Backup: AWS US-West (Oregon)

Enterprise customers can request specific regions (EU, APAC) for data residency compliance.

Is my data encrypted?

Yes. CalcBridge uses encryption at rest and in transit:

  • In Transit: TLS 1.3 for all API communications
  • At Rest: AES-256 encryption for stored data
  • PII: Additional AES-GCM encryption for sensitive fields

Who can access my data?

Your data is isolated using Row-Level Security (RLS):

  • Only users in your organization can access your data
  • CalcBridge support staff cannot access your data without explicit permission
  • No data is shared between tenants

Is CalcBridge SOC 2 compliant?

Yes. CalcBridge maintains SOC 2 Type II compliance. Enterprise customers can request our SOC 2 report.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can export your data at any time:

  • Workbooks: Download as Excel files
  • Reports: Export as PDF, Excel, CSV, or JSON
  • Full Export: Request a complete data export via support

How long is my data retained?

Free 90 days after last activity
Standard 1 year
Premium 3 years
Enterprise Custom (up to 7 years)

After cancellation, data is retained for 30 days before permanent deletion.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can:

  • Delete individual workbooks from the UI or API
  • Request full account deletion via support
  • Delete is permanent and cannot be undone

Technical Questions

What browsers are supported?

CalcBridge supports modern browsers:

Internet Explorer is not supported.

Is there a mobile app?

CalcBridge does not currently have a native mobile app, but the web application is mobile-responsive for viewing data on tablets.

Full functionality is best experienced on desktop browsers.

What is the API rate limit?

Rate limits depend on your subscription:

How do I authenticate with the API?

CalcBridge supports two authentication methods:

  1. JWT Tokens - For user sessions

    Authorization: Bearer <jwt_token>
    

  2. API Keys - For service integrations

    X-API-Key: <api_key>

Does CalcBridge support webhooks?

Yes. Configure webhooks to receive notifications when events occur:

  • Workbook uploaded
  • Calculation completed
  • Compliance test completed
  • Alert triggered

Can I integrate with other systems?

Yes. CalcBridge provides:

  • REST API - Full access to all platform features
  • Webhooks - Event notifications
  • File Import - Support for various data formats
  • SSO - SAML 2.0 and OAuth 2.0 (Enterprise)

Troubleshooting

My upload is failing. What should I do?

Common causes and solutions:

Issue Solution
File too large Split into smaller files or request limit increase
Invalid format Ensure file is .xlsx, .xls, or .xlsm
Corrupt file Open and re-save in Excel before upload
Formula errors Fix #REF! and #NAME? errors in Excel first

Calculations are taking too long. How can I speed them up?

Performance tips:

  1. Reduce file size - Remove unused sheets and data
  2. Avoid entire column references - Use specific ranges instead of A:A
  3. Use XLOOKUP - Faster than VLOOKUP for large datasets
  4. Minimize cross-sheet references - Consolidate related data

A formula is returning an error. How do I debug it?

  1. Click on the cell with the error
  2. View the Error Details panel
  3. Check the error type and message
  4. Use the API to evaluate step-by-step:

I cannot log in. What should I do?

  1. Verify your email address is correct
  2. Check if your password is correct
  3. Clear browser cookies and cache
  4. Try a different browser
  5. Request a password reset
  6. Contact support if issues persist

My compliance test results seem incorrect. What should I check?

  1. Verify the input data is correct
  2. Check threshold configurations
  3. Ensure calculations have completed (not stale)
  4. Compare with manual Excel calculations
  5. Contact support with specific details
