Best Practices

Organization Tips

  1. Use descriptive workbook names - Include date, deal name, and purpose (e.g., "ABC CLO 2024 - Q1 Trustee Report")
  2. Tag workbooks consistently - Use tags for easy filtering and grouping
  3. Archive old versions - Keep historical workbooks for audit purposes
  4. Document formulas - Add comments to complex formulas for maintainability

Performance Tips

  1. Limit cross-sheet references - Minimize dependencies between sheets for faster calculations
  2. Use named ranges - Improves readability and calculation performance
  3. Avoid circular references - CalcBridge detects but cannot resolve circular dependencies
  4. Keep file sizes reasonable - Files under 20MB process significantly faster

Security Tips

  1. Use strong passwords - Follow your organization's password policy
  2. Enable MFA - Multi-factor authentication protects your account
  3. Review API keys regularly - Rotate keys and revoke unused ones
  4. Limit sharing - Share workbooks only with users who need access
